Job Description

Pacific Transfer is a family owned and locally run company. We provide our community with professional transportation, moving, and warehousing services for commercial, office, and residential customers. We are one of the largest transportation providers in Hawaii with one of the newest fleet of trucks.

We are now accepting applications for a full time Accountant at our Mapunapuna location. Qualified applicants may apply in person at 664 Kakoi Street, Honolulu, or reply to posting. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Essential Duties

1. Perform accurate and timely production of financial reports including, but not limited to, monthly financial statements, and billing and account statement production
2. Ensure accurate and timely manual input and processing of AP invoices, including printing checks, vendor payments and managing necessary AP reports
3. Record activities of accounts receivable to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable components
4. Export customer invoices, import files and generate reports using operational software programs
5. Perform weekly review of AR aging reports for collection follow up and non-payment including handling billing inquiries and disputes and resolving discrepancies
6. Record business transactions, prepare entries to accounts and key daily worksheets to the general ledger system and document business transactions
7. Process credit card transactions including contacting customer and vendors for credit information
8. Prepare bank deposits and process online banking transactions
9. Ensure records systems are accurately and efficiently maintained
10. Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner
11. Conform with and abide by all legal regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions

Additional Duties

1. Make bank runs as needed for petty cash, events, money orders, cashier’s checks, etc.
2. Evaluate procedures continually in order to identify opportunities for improvement
3. Complete tasks and projects as required by the Company

Qualifications; (R) Required or (P) Preferred

Experience: Minimum 3 years related hands-on accounting experience (R)
Education: Associates degree in Accounting (R)
Skills: Strong General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Income Tax and banking working
knowledge (R)
PC skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel (R)
Accounting software, preferably MAS 90 / Sage (R)
Microsoft PowerPoint (P)
Fluency in English (oral and written) (R)
Effective oral and written communication (R)
Ability to listen and follow instructions (R)
Type 45+ wpm (R)
Driver’s license with clean driving record (R)
Attention to detail and accuracy (R)
Excellent Attendance (R)
Ethical conduct (confidentiality agreement) (R)
Multi-tasking (R)
Ability to cope under pressure; stress management (R)
