Job Description

InForm Design is a Honolulu based award-winning Architectural and Interior Design firm with over 100+ years of combined local, national, and international experience in sustainable design, architecture, planning, and interior design. InForm Design provides services for commercial, healthcare, educational, hospitality, industrial, military, institutional, retail and residential projects.

We are seeking a highly motivated Emerging Architectural Professional II/Design Intern to join our exceedingly creative, collaborative and innovative team. This position requires tasks associated with the production of documents for purposes of schematic design review, permitting and construction under the supervision of the Project Architect. The successful candidate for this position will have the following qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four-year accredited college or university, preferred.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in all phases of architectural work.
  • Desire to obtain LEED credentials within 12 months of employment

Knowledge & Skills

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Auctodesk, 3D modeling and graphic design software tools are required for this position.
  • Some knowledge of architectural practices, programming, design, specifications and working drawings, building and zoning codes; building materials and methods.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills, with the ability to complete projects and work on time with precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong intrapersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of an effective team, assisting and supporting team members.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Sketch Up graphic software, preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Desire to learn, accept direction, and be mentored
  • Strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain good relationships, both internally and externally, with virtue, respect, humor, and a sense of personal responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM), prepare and modify architectural documents at the direction of the project designer or project manager, ensuring the alignment with design intent and firm standards.
  • Develops solutions to technical and design problems
  • Integrates Sustainable Deign solutions into projects
  • Prepares 2D and 3D design materials for client/project team review
  • Performs product research; assists project designers and project architects with material selection and system research.
  • May assist team in the construction administration phase
