Job Description

Position Title: MULTIMEDIA SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Type of Job: Temporary
Position Ad Closing Date: June 30, 2017

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Produces narrative, photographic and/or videographic documentation of the UHM School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene (SONDH) activities and projects.
  • Edits, assembles and finalizes visual and/or audio program material, in consultation with supervisor, to create compelling and visually interesting productions in various formats.
  • Plans, writes and presents storyboards as directed.
  • Assists in arranging video interviews and coordinating video filming.
  • Designs and produces still graphics, motion graphics, multimedia graphics, promotional exhibits, and marketing & public relations materials.
  • Provides quality assurance of all deliverables and project processes by proofing, reviewing and editing.
  • Creates, updates and maintains digital catalogs of the collection to ensure accessibility of the materials.
  • Works collaboratively on all aspects of digital media creation from concept to production, post-production and presentation of final video/audio pieces.
  • Recommends new technology, software, and media production equipment as necessary for use in to support the School’s marketing and recruitment campaign.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Possession of a baccalaureate degree in graphic arts, arts, film, communications, or related field and one (1) year of professional experience with responsibilities for graphics, photography, desktop publishing, digital media; or equivalent education/training or experience.
  2. Considerable working knowledge of principles, practice and techniques in the computer based graphic and visual arts and demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principals and methodologies.
  3. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.
  4. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  5. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team leaders and members, and individuals.
  6. Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
