Job Description
This Team Member will be responsible for the daily pick-up and delivery of non-emergency transportation of patients to and from services provided by Medicaid and any other items as deemed necessary by management.
Duties will also include the daily care and safe operation of a transportation vehicle and interaction with numerous levels of healthcare providers from internal departments, physician offices, and other healthcare professionals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
– High school graduate or equivalent.
– Required: Valid HI driver’s license.
– ABSOLUTELY NO DUI DRIVING VIOLATIONS.
– Must be 21 or over. A copy of DMV driving record.
– Employment drug test must be NEGATIVE.
EXPERIENCE:
– Experience with frail elderly seniors is required; previous work with seniors is preferred. Must submit to post job offer/ pre-employment medical testing for alcohol and controlled substances, and submit to random testing thereafter.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the culture, customs, traditions, history of Oahu’s geriatric population
Knowledge of the location of all major health care delivery sites throughout Oahu.
Knowledge of methods and techniques for First-Aid, CPR and emergency referral procedures in the Community.
– Skill performing emergency medical procedures including First Aid and CPR.
– Skill with physically lifting and transporting disabled clients properly.
– Skill dealing with difficult clients.
– Skill establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, staff, representatives of resource agencies and all health providers.
– Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
– Ability to operate a variety of standard office equipment including cellular phones, calculators and/ or two-way radios.
– Ability to work with wheelchairs, walkers, infant/safety seats and assistive devices of all kinds.
– Ability to physically assist disabled clients as well as equipment in and out of vehicles.
– Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. or more.
