Job Description
Position: Senior Storage Engineer / Systems Administrator
Job Purpose: Supports Na Ali‘I’s client by providing senior level Storage Engineering and Systems Administration Support, with a concentration on NetApp and VMware in a Win Serv 2008/2012 environment.
Job Duties Include:
Provides tier three technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
Serves as Storage Administrator in support of NetApp Storage Area Network. Lead implementation, design, development and maintenance of NetApp filers in a VMware datacenter.
Assume responsibility for virtual systems and storage on NIPR/SIPR networks; NetApp storage management of CIFS shares & LUNs; NetApp snapshot & snapmirror management; NetApp software support to include Data ONTAP OS updates/upgrades; NetApp hardware support, to include hardware refresh, new disk shelf installation/configuration and network configurations.
Engineer and maintain COOP site for CIFS and as a data management platform integrated with VMware.
VMware vSphere management, including provisioning VM clones and templates, creation of VMFS datastores, and physical server consolidation.
Assume responsibility for server administration, building, managing, updating and maintenance of Windows 2008/2012 servers.
Develop and maintain system/application documentation, to include Standard Operating Procedures.
Assume responsibility for hardening servers per DoD Security and Technical Implementation Guidelines and providing required security documentation.
Supports IAVA patching requirements for servers and systems under management.
Interface with multiple levels of users to include VIPs, Management, and end users.
Assist with weekly and monthly reporting on administration and maintenance activities.

OS and Applications:
Significant experience with NetApp (7-mode and Cluster mode).
VMware 6.x.
Windows Server 2008/2012.
Cisco UCS integration with NetApp desired.
Other Skills/Qualifications: Self-Motivated and Self-Monitoring, Exceptional Oral and Written Communications, Technical Communication, Problem Solving, and ability for Multi-tasking.
Experience with design and development of high availability NetApp storage.
In-depth performance monitoring of storage system(s).
Experience with NetApp technologies such as: SnapMirror, SnapRestore, SnapVault.
Must excel at system documentation, to include in-depth system configuration, topology and development of standard operating procedures.
Must excel at communicating with world-wide support team; this includes providing basic NetApp management and/or maintenance hands-on training to team members.
Clearance Requirements: This position requires a SECRET Security Clearance.
Education and Experience: This position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution as well as a minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience. CompTIA Security+ ce and an OS certification are minimum requirements for this position.
