TOURISM BRAND MANAGER

Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA) is seeking a full-time Tourism Brand Manager.

Duties include, but are not limited to, providing support and project management for the HTA VP of Marketing and Product Development; overseeing assigned markets; planning and organizing tourism-related market research; and preparing current and long-range plans on matters concerning the development of targeted market areas for tourism in the State of Hawai‘i.

The Tourism Brand Manager must provide efficient and effective project management; actively monitor the effectiveness of the marketing initiatives that are initiated by the HTA’s marketing partners who represent Hawai‘i; and analyze the HTA marketing partners’ strategies, with an understanding of current market trends as they relate to all industry stakeholders, including hotels, airlines, attractions, the retail industry, wholesalers, tour operators, and the visitor bureau Island Chapters; and participate in trade shows, familiarization tours, and industry stakeholders’ meetings.

The Tourism Brand Manager must also actively participate in HTA board meetings and other industry-related meetings pertaining to the assigned market and in support of overall marketing efforts of the HTA; assist in research work, compilation of data, and preparation of necessary reports or paperwork; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

This position requires a combination of education and/or experience equal to a minimum of five (5) years in tourism, hospitality sales, marketing, or public relations. An emphasis will be placed on those who have worked in travel industry management, event production and promotion of tourism, communications, management, advertising, or marketing experience. Demonstrated skills in planning, organization and effective communication, including public speaking, are essential. Must be a team player, and possess a positive and collaborative approach to working with others.

Must have experience working with various Hawaiian and other cultural organizations.

The successful applicant must be capable of exercising independent judgment, discretion and initiative while utilizing tact and courtesy in frequent contact with business and industrial representatives, government officials and the general public.
