Job Description
Principal Duties
1. Coordinates trucks and schedules at each job site with trucking superintendent, project managers/engineers or forepersons. Monitors truck routes for efficient delivery (minimizes stand-by time) and responds to drivers needing assistance (break downs, accidents).
2. Provides ongoing monitoring and timeliness of delivery of products to the jobsite. Coordination with HMA dispatchers to re-route when necessary to meet customer and jobsite needs. Communicate with job site management team to keep all involved abreast of activities.
3. Maintains an effective and professional working relationship with internal operational management members – i.e. jobsite project engineers, HMA dispatchers, and shop mechanics as well as external members – i.e. trucking operators, subcontractors and suppliers. Responds to questions about the delivery of product and ensures product availability for jobs.
4. Requires the skill-set to multi-task, monitoring computer screens, answering phone calls and addressing numerous projects at once for overall efficiency of product movement.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
6. Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.
7. Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.
Principal Requirements
1. H.S. Diploma required, plus courses in business management, accounting and mathematics preferred.
2. 5 years in trucking operations and scheduling preferred.
3. Proficiency with Word, Excel, LotusNotes or other email software.
4. Valid Hawaii driver’s license and favorable traffic abstract.
5. Excellent math skills to perform daily tasks.
6. Ability to read and understand contract documents and blueprints.
7. Strong time management and organizational skills.
8. Exceptional communication skills.
9. Must be at least 21 years of age.
