Description:
Szanca Solutions is hiring cable technicians to work with the DoD. The project is long term and will work with infrastructure, and providing IT solutions and services to TS networks on CONUS and OCONUS locations.
Our Cabling Technician will be responsible for developing and instructing others on methodologies and criteria for the installation, inspection, and documentation of structured cabling system infrastructure to include cable tray, horizontal fiber and copper cable, backbone multi-pair copper, multi-strand fiber optic cable, telecommunications ground systems and associated connectivity hardware. Additional responsibilities include:
- Install 4510 network switches, fiber, and copper for end users.
- Installation of ducts and conduits, pulling cables, and terminating, testing, and repairing interior and outside copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
- Generate rack elevations, floor layouts, and connection detail drawings for multiple and varied spaces.
- Install, fusion splice, label and test optical fiber.
- Install, terminate, label and test shielded and unshielded copper.
- Install and program various network devices to include crypto, routers, and switches such as Cisco 6500. Install optical transceivers.
- Install complete data center infrastructure (Racks, PDU, CAT6, SM/MM Fiber, Patch Panels, and Labeling).
- Familiarity with common networking terms and fabric-based network design
- Troubleshoot system issues and provide resolution
Qualifications:
- Minimum education and experience level is a high School/GED with eight (8) years of experience. Equivalent education and experience: Associate’s degree and five (5) years of experience or Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience.
- Preferred Comptia Sec+ 8570 certification
