The Development Associate is responsible for administrative and operational support for the Development department to advance the organization’s fund development strategies. Activities will include, but are not limited to, overseeing the department’s administrative duties, donor database management and gift processing as well as supporting donor relations efforts. Complies with company code of ethics, confidentiality, HIPAA, safety and all other policies and procedures.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • In alignment with HHH values and mission and strategic vision and plans, the Associate is the department’s point of contact and provides professional customer-facing administrative and operational support for the department, including answering phones, processing mailings, maintaining an accurate records management system, and responding timely to requests for information.
  • Responsible for the security and integrity of data in the donor management system. Manages, tracks and reports on fundraising data.
  • Processes gifts and donor acknowledgements timely and accurately.
  • Assists with donor relations efforts in person, over the phone or through digital communication channels.
  • Assists in various tasks with all company events and works collaboratively to maintain positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and supporters.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and at least (3) three years of related work experience in high contact customer service roles.
    • Special consideration will be given to those with direct gift process and stewardship experience as well as fundraising, event or project management, or a related field will be strongly considered.
  • Superior organizational, communication (written & oral) and interpersonal skills with proven ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals both in person and over the phone, via email and in written correspondence.
  • Great attention to detail, follow-through, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial drive.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and other operational software.
  • Current Driver’s License, clean drivers abstract, willingness to travel and use a properly insured vehicle.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, communications or related fields preferred.
  • Experience and skill working with donor database systems (including query and report writing)
  • Experience working in the health and human services sector, especially related to underserved populations.
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising or related field that provides an equivalent skillset in a nonprofit environment preferred.
