Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Consult and collaborate with the UH Translational Health Science Simulation Center (THSSC) Director, Associate Director for Quality and Patient Safety, and THSSC Administrative Coordinator to collect, aggregate and manage quantitative and qualitative data assessment survey results.
  2. Conduct initial descriptive data analysis of quantitative survey data and simple categorizing of qualitative data.
  3. Update the survey platform on a semester basis to reflect changes in course offerings.
  4. Assist with preparation of customized reports, utilizing templates that include text, charts, graphs, and other data visualization tools that can be easily updated and modified for reporting to a variety of audiences, including accreditation agencies, faculty and the community.
  5. Ensure data and reports are archived and stored on a secure platform.
  6. Collaborate with THSSC team to develop and implement strategies to increase response/participation rates for assessment endeavors.
  7. Maintain all databases, records and documents related to THSSC operations and simulation-based programs including but not limited to: schedule of simulation (SIM) suites; record of SIM participant survey data and attendance; record of SIM facilitator self-evaluations or video review DASH (Debriefing Assessment for Simulation in Healthcare) process; catalog of SIM scenarios and validation process; THSSC quarterly meeting minutes and annual strategic action plan reviews.
  8. Acquire and develop proficiency in all aspects of simulation as an educational modality, and ensure its integration in the functions of the Center.
  9. Provide technical support in coordinating and operating online videoconference platforms and simulation.
  10. Other Duties As Assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Professional Work Experience

  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree in information technology, education, social science, communications, business, or related field and one (1) year of progressively responsible professional experience with operations support and data management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in training, customer service, or operational support demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
  • Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with data management and outcomes measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range problems that may commonly occur in the area of training, customer service, or operational support environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with databases, electronic surveys.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer literacy skills including coordination and operation of webinar and online meeting platforms, Google Workspace (Google Suite of Applications), Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and present information and ideas clearly and accurately in writing, verbally and by preparation of reports and other materials including charts, graphs, and other visual representations of data.
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.

Equivalencies:

Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in an educational setting.
  • Experience with simulation learning.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Experience with use of database software systems such as Qualtrics.
  • Familiarity with technology resources utilized in learning or research centers such as computer-based equipment, audio visual systems, and others.
