Listed as a National and Local Best Place to Work, Bowers + Kubota Consulting is seeking a seasoned Project Architect who can work independently on a variety of project types. Specific responsibilities will include architectural design, drawing production, and file management. This position requires self- management skills with minimum supervision, and the ability to work well with staff and consultants. Candidates must be well organized, have a strong attention to detail and have the ability to develop and direct construction documents. The candidate should have experience in all phases of the design process from project planning and concepts through working drawings and construction administration.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is required
• Minimum 10 years well-rounded architectural working experience with all phases of design and construction
• Minimum 7 years of AutoCAD experience
• Knowledge of building materials, specifications and construction techniques
• Architect license is highly preferred as well as experience in BIM
• LEED AP designation highly preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities
• Ability to multi-task projects and establish priorities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
• Excellent hand-eye coordination is necessary for computers and various pieces of equipment
• Ability to work outside occasionally in environmental, atmospheric, and sometimes hazardous conditions
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Positive service-oriented attitude toward the firm, our employees, and the clients

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Prepare, develop, and edit drawings and specifications, models, images and other documents relating to the design intent and communicate with client.
• Support planning, coordination, programming, design, engineering, and construction projects
• Pursue on-time completion within budget through stages of the project
• Conduct field surveys and organize documentation
• Assist with preparations of bid documents and requests for proposals
• Create detailed cost estimates
• Attend meetings with internal and external design staff, managers, and others to present drawings, schedules, and cost estimates for the projects
• Attend field reviews, on-site meetings and project meetings and coordinate schedule reviews and submit samples
• Revise designs as needed to obtain in-house and external approvals
• Plan and conduct minor modifications to complete working drawing sets
• Maintain project records and files
• Manage project staff which entails schedule and manpower updates
• Monitor design process from conception to construction administration to ensure consistency of design idea
• Ensure compliance of construction detail documentation to quality control and best practices
• Involve in business development meetings to target specific market, client or project opportunities
• Interact with building officials during project permitting and construction phases
• Maintain project manual and conduct and document on-site observations and reviews
• Perform other duties as assigned
