The Project Inspector performs construction observation and testing of various construction activities. This position deals with inspecting and monitoring projects and developments to make sure they are following specific standards. It may require extensive experience with technical training or an equivalent certification. Certification (i.e., MTRB, ACI, ICC, etc.) is preferred.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum High School diploma. Bachelor’s degree would be beneficial.
- Minimum 5 years of construction field inspection experience.
- Construction experience and background preferred.
- State Certifications in Concrete, Asphalt, and Soils & Aggregate are preferred.
- Knowledge of safety standards and construction activities methods.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection instructions.
- Computer skills including developing and editing documents, reports, spreadsheets, PDF, and photo files.
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings or other structures such as highways and roads.
- Able to do basic general math including measurement, estimation, and problem-solving.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Good problem solving/analysis skills.
- Able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and written.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Ability to work outside occasionally in environmental, atmospheric, and sometimes hazardous conditions.
- Ability to work outside with increased noise levels.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and conditions that are associated with construction and development projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Observe and test work performed to confirm compliance with building codes, permits, local ordinances, zoning regulations, and contract specifications.
- Perform construction inspection of processes, procedures, systems, structures, and utilitie
- Record and file necessary documentation pertaining to construction progress including daily reports, record drawings, and final documentati
- Assist in the review of contractor progress paymen
- Provide field support services for submittals, RFIs, and requests for contract change orde
- Provide notification and documentation of any observed non-conformance to the Resident Engineer and assist in issuing non-conformance reports.
