Job Description
Seeking a qualified educator to provide a school and headship for Na Lima Kahiau, 501(c)3.
Requirements:
– Graduate degree in private school administration
– Bachelor’s degree in education
– NAIS training in Head of School leadership
– Experience in various leadership roles in both independent and public schools including at least two positions as lead administrator or head of school
– Extensive teaching experience in both public and independent schools and in individual instruction
– Knowledge of federal and Hawaii state education laws, special expertise in IDEA and section 504
– Expertise in effective, research-based, multisensory programs and instructional techniques including the Orton-Gillingham approach
– Ability to train faculty in multisensory programs specifically the Orton-Gillingham approach
– Established, cooperative relationships with Oahu private school administrators and supportive professionals such as skills trainers, behavioral interventions, psychologists, and educational attorneys
– Strong community ties including membership in community and philanthropic organizations
– Functioning school including facilities, staff, faculty, and curricula.
Salary:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
