HAWAIʻI STATE ETHICS COMMISSION NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR STAFF ATTORNEY
The Hawaiʻi State Ethics Commission is now accepting applications for the position of Staff Attorney with the Commission. The staff attorney performs legal services relating to the administration and enforcement of the State Ethics Code and Lobbyists Law and serves as legal counsel for the Commission, providing legal advice and guidance to state officials regarding HRS chapters 84 and 97. The staff attorney participates in all aspects of the Commission’s programs and activities, which include: issuing advisory opinions to state officials about the ethics laws; investigating complaints of ethics violations; administering financial disclosure and gifts disclosure laws for state officials; administering registration and reporting laws for lobbyists; and educating state officials about ethics in government.
