We have an opening for a Senior Accountant, Captive Services in our Honolulu, HI office. This position manages the day-to-day accounting and financial activities of a portfolio of captive insurance companies acting as focal contact person with senior management and our clients, with an opportunity to develop strategic and consulting skills.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • Maintain books and records for each captive insurance company including posting transactions, accounts payable, billing, cash management, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Financial reporting packages that are tailored to meet the individual reporting requirements of each client.
  • Reporting with captive regulators including premium tax filings and captive annual reports.
  • Create and maintain detailed and organized tie-out documentation to support financial reporting packages and captive annual reporting.
  • Create client packages (e.g. board books, regulatory briefings, applications, etc.).
  • Present results of operations at client meetings and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years accounting experience
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel and Word, as well as experience preparing financial statements
  • Must be professional, well organized, deadline oriented and able to multi-task
  • Public and Statutory accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience with MAS 500 accounting software, preferred

 

Physical Requirements Necessary on a Regular Basis:

  • Manual dexterity, arm and upper body range of motion sufficient for use of a keyboard, mouse and telephone 7-8 hours per day
  • Speech and hearing sufficient for in-person and telephone communication 7-8 hours per day
  • Vision sufficient for use of a computer monitor.
  • Ability to sit at a desk 7-8 hours per da
