Full-Time Trusted Care Coordinator

Job Description

Provide coordination of Trusted Care program services to advise and assist the military health system in executing sustainable safe and more reliable patient care.

Primary work location will be Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam (near Honolulu, Hawaii).

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Healthcare or health related field.
  • At least three (3) years of clinical Department of Defense (DoD) or military experience working within the Military Health System.

Required Experience:

  • At least three (3) years of hands on experience using standard software programs such as the Microsoft Office.
  • One (1) year experience coordinating continuous process improvement projects.
  • One (1) year using adult learning principles.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collect, track, and report Trusted Care Progress Updates and milestones to government client in order to form an accurate assessment of progress and effectiveness of the organization’s transformation to high reliability.
  • Ensure coaching tools and techniques are at the level of the Air Force Medical Service expectations/Standard Work during these interactions.
  • Perform on-site sustainment visits to assess and coach staff members on Trusted Care activities.
  • Train staff on Trusted Care activities and requirements and provide a brief training report/summary that includes weekly accomplishments, lessons learned, risks, or best practices from respective units.
  • Distribute and collect a Satisfaction Survey each time training is provided.
  • Collect Trusted Care products (i.e. set of monthly reports, Trusted Care Heroes nominations, Safety Stories, etc.) from government client.
  • Monitor Trusted Care metrics and report trends (i.e. number of instructors) to leadership.
  • Serve as point of contact for unit Trusted Care Champions to communicate any concerns/issues and respond to Trusted Care questions.
  • Communicate staffing, training, knowledge, or any other gaps to leadership.
  • Coordinate with various management levels, as required by DoD policies or procedures.
  • Communicate with MAJCOM and other government clients via approved communication channels including on-site visits, phone interviews, virtual calls, and/or emails
  • Follow the principles of High Reliability Organization (HRO) within the healthcare system. The program components include Leadership Engagement, Culture of Safety, Continuous Process Improvement, and Patient Centeredness.
  • Complete necessary training and certifications, which may include Certified Instructor in Leader Methods, Safety Coach Trainer, and TeamSTEPPS® Master Trainer by Agency for Research & Quality (AHRQ) or American Hospital Association™ (AHA).

 

Required Skills:

  • Self-directed and possesses leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills; with the ability to work independently with no supervision.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor others through use of training and coaching skills and the ability to communicate information on programs and activities, both orally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage all aspects of assigned program(s) through application of professional knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; negotiate complex issues; and maintain professional working relationships.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint. Specific capabilities must include word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics.
  • Have working knowledge of Government regulations, policies, procedures, and limitations within scope of responsibilities.
  • Communicates clearly in English, both orally and in writing.
